We wish you a warm welcome to the Lot department. You’ll get the chance to discover a region that is rich in natural sites, culture and gastronomy.

Located in the Occitanie region, with Cahors as its administrative centre, Lot has three main rivers, the Dordogne, the Lot and the Célé, which have shaped the landscape and formed the magnificent environment of the cliffs and plateaus of the Causses du Quercy. With the help of the region’s natural features, the rivers have created caves, which are often open to the public (underground lakes in the Padirac Cave, prehistoric caves in Pech Merle, etc.). You will be amazed by the typical, well-preserved villages, often built on the cliffs (Saint-Cirq-Lapopie, Rocamadour, etc.)

Lot is a department that is ideal for families, where nature is wonderfully preserved – and the best way to visit it is still on foot, by hiking or by bike.

To build up your energy, you’ll have the chance to enjoy some of the local gastronomy, which is always a treat (foie gras, Quercy lamb, specialities with walnuts, truffles, Cahors wine, etc.)
